Prerequisites
Before we start the creation of our AWS account, we should be ready with the below:
- We need a valid email address for verification.
- A valid mobile phone number for otp verification.
- A valid credit or debit card for payment verification. (We will be staying within the Free tier limits so there wont be any charges).
Step-by-step guide to help you create your AWS account.
To create your AWS account, you can follow the steps below.
- Go to the AWS website and click on “Create a Free Account”.
Click here to go to the AWS website.
2. Provide your email address, AWS account name and then click on “verify email address”.
Make sure to note the email address and the account name used here, we will require the same for login in future.
3. Provide the otp to confirm your email address.
4. Once you have verified your email address you should provide a password for your account.
Remember not to forget this password because we use this for account login in future.
5. Now you have to choose a plan free/paid.
You cannot choose free plan if you already have another AWS account in your name. Here for this example even though I choose free at the end since I already have an account they made this account as paid.
6. Provide your name, country and mobile number.
Make sure you give these information correctly. If you give them incorrectly then your account might be suspended. Here I have selected the plan as “Personal” because this account is for our learning purpose.
7. Provide your billing information and card details.
AWS will USD $1 from your account but dont worry you will get your money back. They will credit it back to your accout in 3–5 days.
8. Provide any other details they ask for to prove your identity.
In my case they asked for the PAN number
10. Verify your mobile number.
11. Select a support plan for your account.
12. Wola! Our Account is now ready. Click on “Go to the AWS Management Console” and start using your aws account.
Conclusion
Now as we are ready with our AWS account, in future articles we will deep dive and learn more about AWS Cloud technologies. Feel free to start with Free Tier services like AWS Lambda or S3 to familiarize yourself with the platform.
